Common Issues
Solutions for frequently encountered problems.
Connection Issues
Cannot connect to Nventory
Symptoms: Clicking "Connect to Nventory" redirects you to the Nventory platform, but the connection doesn't complete when you return to WordPress.
Solutions:
- Make sure you complete the full signup/login flow on
app.nventory.iobefore being redirected back - Clear your browser cookies and try again
- Check that your WordPress site is accessible via HTTPS
- Verify your server allows outbound requests to
app.nventory.io
Test Connection fails
Symptoms: You appear connected, but clicking "Test Connection" shows an error.
Solutions:
- Your connection credentials may have expired — disconnect and reconnect
- Check your internet connectivity
- If you recently migrated your site, you'll need to reconnect
Connection works locally but not in production
Cause: The OAuth flow requires your site to be accessible via a public URL with HTTPS.
Solutions:
- Ensure your site has a valid SSL certificate
- Check that no firewall or security plugin is blocking redirects from
app.nventory.io - Verify your
.htaccessor server config isn't blocking the callback URL
Product Catalog Issues
No products showing in the catalog
Possible causes:
- Your supplier hasn't published any products yet — contact your supplier to confirm
- The connection may have expired — use Test Connection to verify
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting to refresh the link
Publish button doesn't respond
Solutions:
- Refresh the page and try again
- Verify your connection is still active via Test Connection
- Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser
- Try a different browser to rule out browser extensions interfering
Published products not appearing in WooCommerce
Cause: Product creation happens in the background and may take a moment.
Solutions:
- Wait 2-3 minutes for the sync to complete
- Check WooCommerce > Products for newly created products
- If products don't appear after 5 minutes, try unpublishing and re-publishing them
Sync Issues
Product data not updating after supplier changes
Check these first:
- Sync field preference — is the field enabled? If you disabled a field (e.g., Title), supplier changes for that field are intentionally ignored
- Timing — changes may take a few minutes to propagate
- Connection health — run Test Connection to verify your connection is active
Remember: sync field preferences only apply to updates after the initial product creation. The first sync always includes all fields.
Inventory not updating on your store
Solutions:
- Wait a few minutes — inventory sync runs on a short interval
- Verify the product has "Manage stock" enabled in WooCommerce
- Confirm your supplier has actually updated their stock levels
Sync preferences not saving
Solutions:
- Verify your connection is active
- Try refreshing the page and saving again
- Make sure you have the Shop Manager or Administrator role
WooCommerce Compatibility
"WooCommerce is required" notice
WooCommerce is not installed or not activated.
Solution:
- Install and activate WooCommerce
- Deactivate Nventory
- Reactivate Nventory
Issues after updating WooCommerce
If Nventory stops working after a WooCommerce update:
- Deactivate and reactivate Nventory
- Run Test Connection to verify the connection
- If issues persist, check if a Nventory plugin update is available
General Tips
- Always use Test Connection first — it's the fastest way to diagnose most issues
- Check for plugin updates — newer versions may fix known issues
- One connection per site — each WordPress installation supports one Nventory connection
- Products persist after disconnect — disconnecting does not delete WooCommerce products that were already synced
