Connecting to Nventory
Step-by-step walkthrough for linking your WooCommerce store to Nventory.
Connecting your WooCommerce store to Nventory is simple — just click a button and follow the prompts. No API keys to copy or paste.
Connection Flow
Open the Nventory Settings
In your WordPress admin, click the Nventory menu item in the sidebar. You'll see the connection page with a Connect to Nventory button.
Redirect to Nventory
Clicking the button redirects you to app.nventory.io where you'll either:
- Create a new account if this is your first time
- Sign in to your existing Nventory account
Select Your Mode
During setup on Nventory, choose your operating mode:
| Mode | You are... | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier | A product manufacturer or wholesaler | Your WooCommerce products become available for sellers to distribute |
| Seller | A retailer who wants to sell supplier products | You connect to a supplier's catalog and publish products to your store |
Authorize the Connection
Nventory will ask you to confirm the connection. Once you approve, you're redirected back to your WordPress admin with the connection established.
After Connecting
Once connected, Nventory securely stores your connection credentials on your WordPress site. These are used to keep your store in sync with the Nventory platform.
If you migrate your site to a new domain or server, you may need to reconnect to Nventory.
Testing the Connection
After connecting, you can verify the connection is working:
- Go to Nventory in your WordPress admin
- Click the Test Connection button
- A successful test confirms your store is communicating with the Nventory platform
Disconnecting
To disconnect your store from Nventory:
- Go to Nventory settings
- Click Disconnect
Disconnecting removes your stored credentials but does not delete any WooCommerce products that were already synced to your store. Those products remain in your catalog.
Reconnecting
If your connection is lost (e.g., after a site migration):
- Click Connect to Nventory again
- Sign in to your existing Nventory account
- The plugin will re-establish the connection with fresh credentials
