Getting Started

Requirements

System and software requirements for running the Nventory plugin.

Software Requirements

RequirementMinimum VersionRecommended
WordPress5.8+6.4+
WooCommerce5.0+9.0+
PHP7.4+8.1+

WooCommerce Dependency

WooCommerce must be installed and activated before Nventory can run. The plugin checks for WooCommerce on activation and will display an admin notice if it's missing.

If WooCommerce is deactivated while Nventory is active, the plugin will stop functioning and display a warning notice until WooCommerce is reactivated.

HPOS Compatibility

Nventory fully supports WooCommerce's High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS). The plugin declares HPOS compatibility automatically — no configuration needed.

Server Requirements

RequirementDetails
HTTPSRequired for secure connection to Nventory
Outbound HTTPSYour server must allow outbound requests to app.nventory.io

Browser Requirements

The Nventory admin interface works in all modern browsers:

  • Chrome 90+
  • Firefox 90+
  • Safari 14+
  • Edge 90+

JavaScript must be enabled for the product catalog and settings pages to function.

Hosting Compatibility

Nventory works on all standard WordPress hosting environments including:

  • Shared hosting (SiteGround, Bluehost, etc.)
  • Managed WordPress hosting (WP Engine, Kinsta, Flywheel)
  • VPS / dedicated servers
  • Docker-based environments

Some security plugins or server firewalls may block outbound API requests. If you have trouble connecting, check that requests to app.nventory.io are not being blocked.
